Hi everyone,
In Maths this term we have been looking at angles and have been practicing the skill of measuring them correctly with a protractor.
Something that I discovered is that when you are measuring an angle it is extremely important that you place the center line of the protractor directly on the vertex of the angle so that you can get an accurate answer. I have realized that when I use to measure angles the protractor wouldn’t be in the correct spot, so the information that I have now learnt will be very useful in the future.
The most difficult thing for me when measuring angles is that it is sometimes hard to see where the line is pointing to, as they are quite thin which makes it hard to see exactly where it is placed. What I can do in the future to help me see where the lines of the protractor are pointing to is by looking very carefully at the angle and also trying to estimate what I think the answer is.
I am most proud of the fact that I now know how to measure angles with a protractor accurately and that I feel more confident with angles than I use to now that I have practiced and completed a variety of activities.
Overall this angle unit has been fun and I have taken away a lot of information from it.
Do you know how to measure angles?

Loved angles at school – geometry, trigonometry – fantastic!!!
Well done Tess!!!
Hi Tess it’s me Jenny,
and I do know how to measure angles but, it is sometimes difficult to get it exactly on the line. I read your blog post and what I loved the most was how you gave examples of your learning, I also enjoyed how detailed and interesting your blog post is.
My question for you is, what’s the most challenging thing to measure the degrease in angles or just with angles?
Bye, from:
Jenny.
